You seem to be able to express your thoughts well here on your blog. But you are the only one who knows what it takes to be a writer.Go ahead and give it a try; your public awaits.
Seems to me a "real" writer is someone who writes. So, write on, my friend! The rest is up to "readers."

I shake my head at you and yet I know EXACTLY how you feel. It's one of those journeys that some of us are just meant to take. It doesn't matter if the story sucks, it's the compulsion from deep within that MAKES us write it.And Mom, you're a wonderful writer. Believe me when I say that. *hugs*
Don't ever ask this question. Just write. And then write some more.
I think all that matters is if YOU think you have what it takes. Do what feels right/write for you!
I have not been reading your blog for that long, but what I´ve read so far....I like! :)
I've been away from the blogworld...or posting in the blogworld for a bit now...sorry about that. Let me just say...you encourage and inspire me...you make me feel like I'm not alone in this strange mid-life place. I've also started writing and I say...WRITE. If you don't...those voices in your head...those stories that want out, will just go away with no one hearing them to be encouraged and inspired by.If I can do it...You can do it!
Go for it...we never know how anything new is going to go, all we can do is try!
Fiction or non-fiction??? Just curious. I know two great books that deal with non-fiction writing.
