In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. ~ José Narosky
I
saw something so precious today. As I was standing in line at the
store, an elderly gentleman was standing in front of me and as the
checker scanned his food she said, "I see you're a Veteran. Which War
did you serve in?" and he said, "Korean." She said, "Well, thank you
for serving our country!" and I said, "God bless you, sir!" I told him
my dad had been a Veteran of WWII. The lady told him, "You know, I'm
going to give you a hug!" and she stepped around the counter and just
enveloped him in her arms in such a heartfelt way and kissed him on the
cheek. Now, THAT made my day! I've been smiling every time I think of
it ever since.

This story made me smile. Thanks for sharing it.
How sweet is that! It's so nice to see people spreading love, encouragement, and admiration. I'm glad you were a witness and added your thanks, too.
Very nice. Veterans seem to be getting much more respect these days than a couple decades ago and that is as it should be.
