In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. ~ José Narosky

I saw something so precious today. As I was standing in line at the store, an elderly gentleman was standing in front of me and as the checker scanned his food she said, "I see you're a Veteran. Which War did you serve in?" and he said, "Korean." She said, "Well, thank you for serving our country!" and I said, "God bless you, sir!" I told him my dad had been a Veteran of WWII. The lady told him, "You know, I'm going to give you a hug!" and she stepped around the counter and just enveloped him in her arms in such a heartfelt way and kissed him on the cheek. Now, THAT made my day! I've been smiling every time I think of it ever since.

How sweet is that! It's so nice to see people spreading love, encouragement, and admiration. I'm glad you were a witness and added your thanks, too.

Very nice. Veterans seem to be getting much more respect these days than a couple decades ago and that is as it should be.
