Ghosts of Christmas Past...

Christmas at the Farm

This is a photo of Dear Hubby's mother's homestead farm in the Oregon City area. His maternal grandparents originally emigrated from Austria to Canada when they were young newlyweds. They had several of their 14 children there. Then, in the 1920s, they came to Oregon. Dear Hubby's mother was born in this house. Yesterday morning he went to hunt on his cousin's land which is right across the road from here. This is what the old homestead looked like, minus all the aunts and uncles and 60-odd cousins who gathered here every Christmas during my Dear Hubby's childhood. Ghosts of Christmas past.

That looks just like the house my parents had in town, after moving off the farm - complete with the veranda! My mom just moved out of it last year! Such a lovely photo! Thanks for sharing that!
