That is exactly what Hwy 14 used to look like when I started teaching in Camas in 1977. Not a car in front of me and not one behind me! I used to wonder what I would do if I ever had car trouble. The funny thing is that when my grandmother was about 9 and moved from Battle Ground to Bear Prairie in about 1906, Hwy 14 didn't exist. They trveled by ferry from Vancouver to Fishers Landing and then by wagon over two muddy wagon wheel tracks to their "new" home.
