Have you ever swung from a star, carried moonbeams home in a jar?

My little grandson discovered sunbeams today. I was quietly watching him play near his toy box in the dining room when he suddenly paused and grew very still, gazing at a patch of sunlight that had appeared on the front of his shirt as the sun shifted, coming in thru the window. He looked up to see where the light was coming from and saw the sunbeams and the dust motes drifting lazily downward. He watched in silent fascination for a few moments, then ever so tentatively reached up and tried to grab a sunbeam. Then another. And another. And each time, when he came away empty-handed, he'd stare at his palm as if he couldn't believe his eyes. Where did that sunbeam go?!

And then...he raised up both his arms, reaching up into the sunbeams, and began to sing. Just a tuneless little melody. But the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Oh, how sweet!

I love sunbeams.

Got a lot of sparkly dust motes in mine. So pretty. I still try to grab them. You just never know...

Aw Kris! I remember all of my kids doing that and it's something I would have forgotten if you hadn't mentioned it. I love your description because it just comes back so clearly. It's sad how easily those special moments are forgotten when life is going at such a hurried pace.
I want to do your last set of questions myself but I have to get motivated. I love your answers :)

I love moments like that. You just want to rewind and watch it over and over. Just goes to show we are all entranced by the simple things that happen all around us.
