In a very roundabout way, I found out by linking to links that the AOL Journals are shutting down. I have never even been aware of the fact that AOL had journals/blogs but I feel their pain. It'd be like Blogspot shutting down. What a void it would leave. Where would I go? I have a huge fear Bravejournal will do the same thing one of these days and I keep telling myself I need to go to my old blog there and save the entries I want to keep forever. But I'm not even sure how to go about that. Do I save them one-by-one to a disk? Can a person download a whole blog all at once? Does anyone know?
By linking to links, I came across this great passage written on one of the journals in jeopardy. If this doesn't say it all about the blogosphere, I dunno what does:
"I haven't regretted one single person I've met. Not ONE! I've learned alot about the human condition and realized that it's much easier to talk about life to strangers who become friends than to lots of friends who are really strangers. Ordinary people live extraordinary lives."
That was written by a lady who goes by the name of Saturday's Child.

That is heartbreaking, and frightening as h*ll!
I downloaded all of the information to make blog entries into a book, but I haven't tried any of it yet. I have another friend that's just waiting to receive her book. I'll email you the link!
I have always made copies of my posts and put them in a notebook. I know someone else who copies them onto microsoft word and then puts them on discs.
oh that was so well said. bravo
thanks for stopping by my blog (via blogstalker)! I feel exactly the same way you do regarding blogging. my BF says he doesn't "get it" but he also said that he knows it fulfills something I need. He has been supportive and even lets me blog about him - lol!
