Kris! I've been thinking about you and all that heat you've been having.
On SOMEONE'S blog I saw the cutest idea! They took a plastic tub/bowl and froze a bunch of small toys in it. My guess would be maybe a few layers at a time? I'm not sure.., ANYWAY, overnight it will freeze solid, and then you turn it out and have this wonderful ice block filled with small toys for the kids to figure out a way to free. It looked like the kids in the picture were having a ball with it, using toy hammers and screw drivers.
Doesn't cost a thing, so even if it isn't all it's cracked up to be, you're not out anything.
I'm planning to try this soon, with little plastic animals.
